Walking in the rain

With
little wind
to sway it, the
rain falls in near
perfect vertical

formation

into rippling puddles
and gushing gutters.

It's a good day
for an umbrella.

And for the daffodils
and forsythia, too,
that shout ...

As we pass by
on this otherwise
gray day.
